Sandalwood & Patchouli Solid Shampoo or Conditioner Bars

Earthy. Natural. Rich. Deep. This is the best definition of this shampoo and conditioner I can think of. The glorious depth of sandalwood, blended with earthy and powerful patchouli come together in these so incredibly well... I can't get enough!

The shampoo bar is made with earthy clays--red kaolin and rhassoul--both of which are so excellent for happy and healthy hair! Red kaolin is amazing for soothing the scalp and smoothing the hair. Rhassoul clay helps improve hair texture and volume. It also is a very decent conditioning agent to protect and love your hair! We also used the FANTASTIC Camu Camu--a sour berry from South America! Loaded with vitamin C and antioxidants, it's often used to help with keeping the scalp, and therefore hair, healthy and supple. Illipe butter, a brittle "dry" butter, is used in this to smooth and silken hair. Castor oil was used, as it is one of the most amazing scalp and pore cleansers, ever. Vegetable keratin in this smooths the hair, and bamboo extract feeds and improves elasticity in every strand. We also used biotin and vitamin E, along with silk peptides--all to strengthen and make for the happiest hair! We used no colorants whatsoever--the clays create the beautiful color!

The scent of sandalwood and patchouli is earthy... powerful... soothing, yet energizing. The particular class of sandalwood in this natural fragrance oil is called Mysore. It's so soft, woodsy, yet delicate and beautiful. Patchouli essential oil works in harmony with this sandalwood, the scents softly entwining with one another and forming a beautiful bond of scent to envelop the senses and bring joy.

The conditioner bar is jam-packed with stuff to do your hair and scalp right. With wheat germ oil, as well as jojoba oil, it's got cupuacu butter and a touch of coconut oil, as well! Wheat germ oil is easily absorbed into the scalp, which is great at helping to keep hair hydrated. Also, it has Vitamins E, D, and A which helps to strengthen hair and provide required moisture for your hair to shine! Cupuacu butter is utterly divine in that it moisturizes without oiliness. It holds many times its weight in water, and will keep hair smoother and softer, while it keeps your scalp supple and happy. We used silk peptides, veggie keratin and vitamin E in this, along with DL Panthenol--ProVitamin B-5. The scent is the same as the shampoo bar, and leaves a lovely, lasting scent behind once your hair is dry.

Solid shampoo and conditioner bars are easy to use and last quite a while, as long as they're not left in standing water. Leaving the shampoo or any natural soaps or solid conditioners in a puddle makes them soften and melt. So we HIGHLY recommend that between uses, it be kept on a rack (like those wire or plastic racks that hang over the shower head, or even better, a bamboo-type wooden rack) to dry out. The drier they're kept, the harder the shampoo, conditioner or soap stays. The harder the shampoo, conditioner or soap is maintained, the longer it lasts!

So, they last a respectably long time, especially if they are allowed to dry between uses. Shampoo bar lasts about as long as a 20 oz bottle of liquid shampoo for me. Conditioner lasts significantly longer than the shampoo, and you can mix and match with other shampoo bars!

To use: Wet your hair as usual, then rub the bar between your hands and apply the lather. Or you can rub the bar directly on hair, then lather. My personal preference is to use the bars directly on hair. For the conditioner, I apply directly to hair, while it's soaking wet from rinsing out the shampoo, concentrating on the ends. I leave it in for a couple of minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

The shampoo bars are 3 ounces, about 33% larger than many others. The conditioner bars are 2 ounces, and they last, and last, and last! For me, one conditioner bar usually holds out for two shampoo bars.

As with all hair care products, keep out of eyes.
