Thrive & Grow Zero Waste Shampoo or Conditioner Bars

This shampoo and conditioner pair are LOADED with goodness! I had to say that first, because, well... everything in it is there specifically to nourish, cleanse, and strengthen your hair from root to tip--but also to cleanse your scalp and feed it with SO MUCH GOODNESS!

After researching a ton, we found some exciting ideas and decided to put it together in these bars! With some of nature's finest and most time-tested plant life in these, we hope you find them to be as terrific as we do.

Shampoo bar ingredients:
The special ingredients in these are maca root peptides, used in many cultures to revive hair growth and shine--and is said to help reduce hair fall. Saw palmetto, which is also used in many cultures to help with clean, healthy follicles and thereby help hair. Turmeric root, to help minimize breakage and support hair strength. Licorice root, which has been used since the 3rd century BC in Egypt is known for its soothing properties for dry or irritated scalp. Marshmallow root is known to nourish and detangle, condition dry scalp and hair, and help stop breakage. Nettle, which is one of the oldest recorded remedies used around the globe, is awesomely terrific stuff. This is primarily due to the high amount of sulphur and silica in nettle, which are said to improve hair health by strengthening the hair shaft. Rosemary, which boosts shine and soothes the scalp. Oregano, which is a super-herb for cleansing hair follicles, which is said to help with happier, healthier hair! Of course, the other ingredients, including camelina oil, which is not only high in vitamin E but is also protective of both scalp and hair. We used the wonderful camu-camu fruit, which is incredibly high in vitamin C--even higher than citrus fruit--and which works as a fabulous antioxidant. Aronia berry, high in both A and C, not only feeds the scalp but is also a super antioxidant to help with shine and growth potential, as it protects the hair shaft beautifully. Matcha tea, said to not only strengthen hair, but slow down graying, while feeding the hair as it cleans. Resveratrol, more commonly used for keeping skin young looking, was used in this because as it feeds the scalp, it helps with the appearance of hair density and fullness. And, hyaluronic acid, also used a lot in facial applications, is so great for hair! It is said to hydrate hair, plump it and improve texture, among so much more! We used Cambrian blue clay because it's said to strengthen hair at the roots, while nourishing the scalp with vitamins and minerals. The other ingredients in this, sodium cocoyl isethionate, is an incredibly gentle, coconut-based cleanser; BTMS, a conditioning agent made from the rapeseed plant; gluten-free wheat germ oil, which protects and penetrates hair; kpangnan butter, which is penetrating and soothing; silk peptides for strengthening; veggie keratin, which is also a smoothing and strengthening agent, helping to stop split ends; bamboo extract, for strength and vitamin & mineral nourishment; pure biotin, to overall feed hair some good B-vitamins; turmeric essential oil for its moisture and hair-loving nature... and last but certainly not least, the essential oils which consist of rosemary, orange, lavender and bergamot--all four of which have their own lovely happy-hair possibilities!

The conditioner contains wonderful ingredients as well. Hair ADORING, hexane free castor oil was infused with many of the same herbal ingredients that are in the shampoo: licorice root, maca root peptides, saw palmetto, camu-camu, aronia berry, matcha tea, and marshmallow root. We added to that the wonderful camelina oil, GF wheat germ oil, amla oil, coconut oil, turmeric essential oil, kpangnan butter (which really cleanses away the old sebum that gathers in the hair follicles, allowing hair to flourish), veggie keratin, BTMS, a lovely conditioning product called polyquaternium-7, DL Panthenol (ProVitamin B-5), silk peptides... this bar is loaded with goodness to make happy, healthy and well-fed hair! The same essential oils are in this as in the shampoo: rosemary, orange, lavender and bergamot. The conditioner contains trace amounts of cyclomethicone, but truly, trace amounts, which silkens hair and smooths split ends, also helping with comb-out.

If you've used this one before, the color is somewhat different than the last time, due to the addition of the turmeric root and turmeric essential oil. Turmeric is one awesome ingredient!

These bars are ecologically friendly, wrapped in glassine-paper or in post-recycled soap boxes, and with biodegradable labels, too! With these, there are no plastic bottles to go into a landfill. No plastic bottles to end up in the ocean. :) Just an eco-friendly bar of great shampoo or conditioner, in eco-friendly wrapping!

The shampoo bars weigh 3.1 oz, and the conditioner just over 2 oz. Keep the bars out of standing water, and allow to dry between uses for best, longest lasting results. The shampoo bar lasts a bit longer than a typical 24 oz bottle of shampoo, and the conditioner bar lasts longer even than that, typically.

As we said above, our goal is to provide eco-friendly products, which won't add anything more to landfills or the ocean, so we package our bars in fully biodegradable paper.
